About Jim Meier

In 1976, Jim Meier, known as the Championship Thinking Coach, began his career as an organization development consultant, trainer, leadership, life transition, and sports psychology coach and speaker. While working for Union Pacific Railroad from 1976-1991, he created new Executive Development programs, Total Quality Improvement applications, training methods, and system-wide Labor-Management Cooperation initiatives.

In 1991, he founded the Training and Consulting Connection which he later renamed, Championship Thinking Coach. To date, he’s served over 500 clients, including major corporations, healthcare, the military, non-profits, government agencies and professional associations.  He has recognized as one of Leadership Excellence Magazine's “Top 100 Minds in Personal Leadership,”

Jim has authored three children's books, two sports psychology workbooks, co-authored a workbook with leadership expert, Michael Maccoby, and has written numerous Mental Game of Sport sarticles.

On his hour-long radio talk "Championship Thinking in Sports", Jim has interviewed many prominent professional athletes and coaches, national champion collegiate and high school coaches, experts in nutrition, exercise, team dynamics, and authors of sports books.

In 2012, Jim co-founded the all-volunteer non-profit Honor and Remember Nebraska Chapter and have been involved in various philanthropic efforts.

Jim is a USAF veteran and holds degrees in Economics and International Studies and Leadership.
